THE MANIFESTO of the Conscious Tribes Movement

CONSCIOUS TRIBES Combining Personal & Social Transformation THE MANIFESTO

1. How we act depends on the quality of our consciousness.

2. The chaos and conflict being generated by the dominant global culture

is the natural consequence of its quality of consciousness.

3. To co-create new cultures we need to cultivate a new quality of consciousness.

4. This cannot be done alone, so we need to form ´Conscious Tribes´ -

groups of people who are cultivating this new quality of consciousness together

(without needing to move home, or live in the same building, or buy land together).

5. To form Conscious Tribes we need a simple, clear Existential Concept

that can (a) unify, (b) respect the diversity of our beliefs,

(c) not impose a dogma, and (d) facilitate equality, not hierarchy.

The concept of ´Unity and Uniqueness´ meets all of these criteria.

´Unity and Uniqueness´ combines two of our most obvious, universal intuitions:

“I am inextricably part of The Great Mystery of Existence” and simultaneously,

“I only experience my own, unique, limited, subjective experience”.

These two intuitions can be combined as

“We are All Unique Expressions of The Great Mystery Of Existence”.

6. By sharing ´a learning journey´,

and learning, together, how to live and relate as

Unique Expressions of The Great Mystery Of Existence -

these Conscious Tribes become microcosms

of the alternative cultures they seek to co-create.

7. Conscious Tribes become fully themselves when they begin to act –

its members offering each other practical support, sharing their resources -

helping each other have more control over their own time,

and more agency in their own lives -

helping each other live more self-sustainably, ecologically and creatively,

less materialistically, and with more awareness of The Great Mystery of Existence -

not just surviving the dominant culture,

but actively co-creating alternatives.

8. Conscious Tribes can exist entirely online.

The members of a Conscious Tribe can live far apart, and meet periodically.

However, when people live in the same local area

(whether in the same part of a city, or in the same town, or in the countryside),

and are physically involved in each other´s daily lives,

there are endless opportunities to share deep connection.

The members of a Conscious Tribe can then bond

in their commitment to their locality,

and the Conscious Tribe can begin to manifest its full potential

for social transformation.

9. Local Conscious Tribes can link interdependently

to form Conscious Local Communities.

Conscious Local Communities can link interdependently

to form Conscious Cultures.

The manual is adapted from my book ´Love & Revolution´ and I hope it communicates the essence of the Conscious Tribes concept, and inspires people - and offers the necessary support if people decide to start their own Conscious Tribe.
