THE NEW CONSCIOUS TRIBES MANUAL
At the moment, if you want to find out about The Conscious Tribes Movement, and get practical recommendations for starting a Conscious Tribe of your own, you need to read Love & Revolution. But Love & Revolution is a not a quick read. It´s a book with content to meditate upon, interlaced with stories and poems – and you have to study it closely if you want to get to the practical recommendations. So I, Mark, am preparing ´The Conscious Tribes Manual: Concept & Method´ - a concise manual that explains the Conscious Tribes concept, and gives clear recommendations as to how to form a Conscious Tribe of your own.
The manual has three sections:
Part 1. What´s A Conscious Tribe?
Part 2. How To Travel Together as a Conscious Tribe?
Part 3: How To Create and Sustain a Conscious Tribe?
The manual will be accompanied two companion volumes - a book of essays, and a book of stories and poems. These two books will expand on the concise presentation in the manual, explore related themes, and (like Love & Revolution) be books to read slowly and contemplate.
My heartfelt hope is that the manual will make the Conscious Tribes concept and method clearer and more accessible – and inspire people to start their own Conscious Tribe.
A PHILOSOPHICAL FINE TUNING
In Love & Revolution, and in many of my articles, I talk about Radical Honesty as the core, shared understanding at the heart of every Conscious Tribe. Radical Honesty: the understanding that each of us only ever experiences their own unique reality - that everyone´s experience of any moment is subjective, limited and fallible.
While I still feel this is a vital understanding – an understanding that keeps us all in touch with ourselves, and humble, and equal, and respectful of each other – it clashes with another, equally important understanding that also resides in ´the shared heart´ of a Conscious Tribe. And that is: the interconnectedness of The Great Mystery of Existence, the Oneness of Reality – that we ourselves are Unique Expressions of The Great Mystery, ´part of´ The Great Mystery, woven inextricably into the fabric of The Great Mystery – and that, therefore, we are The Great Mystery.
In other words, Radical Honesty is only “one side of the coin” of the core feeling/intuition/understanding that unites a Conscious Tribe. Yes, the members of a Conscious Tribe feel we all live in our own realities - and yet, simultaneously, paradoxically, they also feel We Are One. They feel that we are simultaneously inescapably alone, and inescapably united!
So in the upcoming manual, and the two companion volumes, instead of writing about Radical Honesty (“we only have our unique realities”) as the foundational understanding that sustains a Conscious Tribe, I will be using the term ´Unity & Subjectivity´ to more accurately describe the profound, complex, subtle, paradoxical understanding the members of a Conscious Tribe share.
THE ACCOMPANIERS TRAINING
The manual explains Unity & Subjectivity as the core existential or ontological concept that unites a Conscious Tribe - and that a Conscious Tribe shares a Learning Path: the path of experiencing (not just understanding) our simultaneous Unity and Subjectivity. And it explains that The Practice of Conscious Relating has been designed to support that Learning Path. In other words, the manual recommends The Practice of Conscious Relating as a way of bringing people´s hearts together - and beginning to walk the experiential Learning Path together.
This is why we are now setting up a new training programme - to help people who have been touched by The Practice of Conscious Relating be able introduce the practice to others.
The training is free, and consists of four sessions.
Session 1: How do we understand The Practice, The Path, and The Context (Conscious Tribes)? And how do we communicate this?
Sessions 2 & 3: How do we facilitate The Practice? And how can we support someone so that they come to appreciate The Practice more and more?
Session 4: Where has each person arrived after these three sessions? Do people feel ready to accompany others? Any questions? The issue of support for Accompaniers.
I hope that all of the above (the manual, the fine tuning, and the new training) are all part of the continuing evolution of The Conscious Tribes Movement - making it clearer, simpler, more accessible and more actionable.
